The six keys of heaven

6 Klidia (6keys) Sea Side lodge located at Kallifteri Beach , Afissos (Pelion).
The six Keys of heaven.
I fell in love with this small hotel (only six rooms) as soon as I saw it on the Internet
and when I visited it for the very fisrt time, this summer, the reality exceeded my imagination.
It was like I passed to another world. Surround exudes a calmness and a finesse!
But I will let the pictures speak for me...

 Untill next June...

Chocolate temptation with biscuits (kormos sokolatas or mosaiko)

Easy, quick and delicious dessert!
In Greece is known as chocolate log  (kormos sokolatas )
and all the Greek moms have made it at least once!
A dessert with only 5 ingredients.
Believe me your kids will love it!

Ingredients

  • 250 gr vegetable butter
  • 225 gr Petit beurre biscuits ( I used whole grain)
  • 5 tbsp Unsweetened cocoa
  • 390 gr sweetened condensed milk
  •  1 tbsp vanilla extract
  •  We put a saucepan over medium heat and we melt the butter
with the unsweetened cocoa.

Add the biscuits, (which we had break into small pieces).
Finally add the sweetened condensed milk and  the vanilla extract
stir  well and leave it aside to cool.

Then  we spread the mixture in a membrane
and wrap it  in roll  (shaped like a salami) and we put it in the refrigerate for 4 -5 hours.

Cut it in pieces and serve it!
Enjoy :)

Ponytails ! A trend you will love!

This summer I was  obsessed with ponytails!
I believe this trend will continue in the winter too!
It is easy to wear them and make them on your own!
Either to go to the supermarket or even to a formal dinner!
It's like DIY for hair:)
I found a nice article on the Internet for ponytails do's and don'ts!
 You can read it  Here.
There is also this lady, Kate from  It's the small things ,
a professional hairstylist . You can find on her blog really good tips for hair styling ( and not only)!

I haven't decide for  the color on the walls yet,
but I  have decided for the beds!
I'm looking for low budget decoration details
and I have found some great stuff .
I want to see the final result and
I hope my children  will be happy with their new rooms!

The photos below show some of the rooms that I like  !

Greek Pastitsio from leftovers

Pastitsio is one of the most famous Greek recipes!
Kids and adults love it!
My family loves it!
Yesterday I cooked pasta with meat sauce
and from the leftovers I decided  to cook pastitsio.
The only think I had to prepare was the bechamel!

Ingredients
pasta ( pennes)
meat sauce
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
Bechamel

***

Bechamel (for a medium pyrex)

4 tbsp butter
4 tbsp flour
500 ml milk
 nutmeg
pepper
1 egg
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese

Bechamel
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Once melt down add the flour to make a roux. Stirring for about 3 minutes.

Whisk in the milk, taking care to break up any roux lamps.
Cooking until thick.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the egg, carefuly keeping whisk.
Then add the pepper, the nutmeg, and the parmesan cheese.
Whisk for a minute and set this aside.

Preheat the oven to 375 f.
Mix a scoop of bechamel into the meat sauce.
Get a pyrex and coat the bottom with half of the pasta.
Sprinkle with some grated parmesan.

Pour on all the meat sauce and sprinkle with grated parmesan
and then the rest of the pasta and cheese.

Pour the bechamel on top off all this and bake for 45 - 60 minutes.
 Until the bechamel turns gold.

Remove from the oven and wait for 25 minutes before you cut into it!
You can served with Greek or green salad.
Bon appetit!
